Community Spotlight
In 2023, the New Practice Lab partnered with the State of Maryland to help implement the State's new paid leave law. Here's a summary of that effort:

Recommendations from our work
Lessons learned from existing paid leave programs about medical certification, and advice about designing that process
Architectural suggestions for the software and data systems supporting the program
How to balance privacy, user burden, and analysis needs when collecting data from members of the public
We will continue to serve as an advisor to Maryland as they build their paid leave program, and have already brought lessons from this work to other states adopting paid leave programs.
